Cathy,

What an amazing vacation I had at the Cape!!!

It all started with my Dad and me getting up early and driving for three days.... I could not believe my eyes when I got out of the car and Dad took me to this beautiful, white sand beach that seemed to stretch for miles. I was so excited that I just ran, and ran. We came back to the house and Dad unpacked and we settled in for the night watching the Super Bowl (Dad's team won).

Dad and I woke up early every morning for a walk around Barrier Dunes and after breakfast we headed down to the Beach. I love playing along the water's edge when the ocean meets the sand and licks my toes. We would meet new friends from all over the United States and Canada, mostly from Ontario. Dad and I would usually spend the afternoon on the deck enjoying an occasional nap in the sun watching the birds and squirrels. Dad said it's been cooler than average for this time of year. I think it's perfect.

Well today Dad and I are going to pick Mom up from the airport. What he didn't tell me the airport is in Sarasota. What an adventure.... We drove along the coast on hwy 98 until we reached beautiful horse country. I wanted to stop and see the horse jumping but Dad said no to that idea. We arrived in Bradenton and to my surprise we were at Nanny and Grammy's house. Dad picked Mom up the next day and we had a nice visit but I sure missed the Cape.

Mom said she loved Dolphins Dance and how everything is so nice and cozy. Dad and I still go to the beach every morning while Mom sleeps. Then we like to watch the turtles sun bathe beside the pond. We even saw a snake relaxing in the warm sun shine. Though, I wasn't allowed to investigate.

Mom and Dad drove to Apalachicola to see a matinee at the DIXIE Theatre. They said they had a great time and would like to go back. The following day they took a trip into Port St. Joe to pick up dinner. Wow what a dinner. If you love BBQ then you have to have the ribs from Paul Grants, but its only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The next day Dad also wanted some fresh fish so he picked up some Grouper from Triple Tails in St. Joseph Bay. What a great dinner we had that night....Dad's a great chef!

The weather has been exceptional averaging between 75 to 80 degrees and sunny. Mom even put sunscreen on my nose so it wouldn't burn.

Wow, what a holiday... I can't believe we been here one month and our vacation is coming to an end. Thank you Cathy for sharing your home with me and my family and I hope my Mom and Dad bring me back next year to enjoy the sun, sand and surf.

Cape San Blas is truly the Life for a Dog or in this case a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever...

Woof Best Wishes,

Hunter, Toronto Canada
